Rate Alert

In response to market conditions, the ACGA has lowered rates.

Like the majority of not-for-profit institutions offering gift annuities, the University of Chicago follows the recommended rates set forth by the American Council on Gift Annuities (ACGA). Recently, the ACGA approved a new gift annuity rate schedule that will take effect on July 1, 2008. These new rates are lower than current rates.

Accordingly, the University will adopt the ACGA’s new recommended payment rates effective July 1, 2008.

These new rates will not affect the payment rates on existing annuities or annuities established prior to July 1. However, charitable gift annuities established after July 1 will receive a lower payment rate than those established before July 1.

If you wish to take advantage of the current higher rates and establish a gift annuity with the University before the new rates take effect, please contact the Office of Gift Planning at 773.702.3130 or giftplan@uchicago.edu for a personalized illustration and more information.
