Gift Planning Evaluation Exercise:

Should I investigate a planned gift to the University of Chicago?

YES
NO
I am 65 years old or more.
I am retired.
I have a positive attitude towards giving to the University and supporting its mission of education, research and service.
If I felt comfortable that my net worth would be enough for future spending choices and financial or medical uncertainties, I would make a substantial gift to the University.
If I felt comfortable that my estate were sufficient to provide for my spouse, heirs or other important individuals in my life, I would leave a gift to the University.
I have already included a testamentary gift in my estate plan for the University.
I am concerned about potential estate taxes.
I am concerned about securing stable income for my retirement.
I could use additional annual income, but I have no present need for a large lump sum of cash.
I would benefit financially from a charitable income tax deduction.
I tend to make financial decisions based on careful evaluation of risk vs. reward.
I have been a consistent donor to the University over the years.
I have considered a life income gift in the past.
I have assets that I could invest to produce income for me, but I do not want to have to actively manage them.
I own an appreciated asset that I would consider giving to the University if it would minimize capital gains tax.
